Frozen Free Fall is a fun puzzle game based on the popular Disney license.

Frozen Free Fall, which is inspired by the popular Disney animated feature Frozen, is at its core a matching game. The challenges vary from one level to the next, but the core goal will be to reveal and match three like symbols. This is a core puzzle activity that a lot of kids love, and when you set it in the Frozen world with authentic graphics and music, it’s an instant hit.

The game brings players along at a solid pace with a series of effective tutorials. The game tells a new Frozen story. The story begins in the tutorials, and the story mode continues over more than 1,000 levels. New levels are added all the time. Along the way, you’ll unlock new characters, and all of your favorites are here: Anna, Elsa, Olaf and more. Each character has unique abilities that change gameplay.

Anna, for instance, can use her torch to burn away an entire row. Elsa, on the other hand, uses her glacier ability to make adjacent crystals of the same color magically disappear, and Hans has a sword that can slash right through practically any crystal. Using these character abilities as the appropriate time can make the different between overcoming or failing a level.

Obstacles vary. You may need to clear the board in a time limit on one level or destroy a certain series of ice blocks on another. Each time you fail, you lose a heart — a life. These replenish over time, and you need at least one heart to try again. Disney’s Frozen Free Fall also supports Google cloud, which means you can put the game down on your tablet and resume where you left off on your phone, for instance.

Like many mobile games, Frozen Free Fall offers in-app purchases. You purchase hearts, which can let you continue playing or can be given to friends so that they can. Once you’ve depleted all of your hearts, it takes 30 minutes for them to replenish. This isn’t too bad in itself. The problem appears at around level 15 or so. The game difficulty rises it sharply. It’s even hard for adults. The intent here is clear, and it becomes particularly offensive when you consider that this is a game aimed chiefly at young children.
